Using an old rotary phone to represent the Missed Connnections board, each post manifests as voicemail messages left for an unknown recipient. Juxtaposed with the system’s computerized voice, each message reminds us that behind every post is a human looking for connection. While I aim to make viewers empathize with and maybe even admire those willing to take a shot, I remain, still, a sceptic, deliberately making an object with interactions limited to listening privately until the messages expire.
